Liberty Public Market in San Diego

Liberty Public Market is the newest incarnation of an ever-expanding neighborhood in Point Loma, where San Diego's most dynamic artisans unite under one roof. The 25,000-square-foot marketplace opened to the public in March 2016. A $3 million collaboration between operating group Blue Bridge Hospitality and developer The McMillin Companies, Liberty Public Market is designed to be reminiscent of public markets such as Napa's Oxbow Public Market, Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market, and Vancouver's Granville Island.

Founded by local success story David Spatafore, principal of Blue Bridge Hospitality, Liberty Public Market brings together over 30 San Diego-based food and specialty vendors in an artisanal emporium. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or an all-day feast, Liberty Public Market has something for everyone.

Eat & Shop

The Market houses a variety of eateries spanning 22,000 square feet, including family-owned Liberty Meat Shop, WestBean Coffee Roasters, Fully Loaded Juice, Venissimo Cheese, Wicked Maine Lobster, Mastiff Sausage, Cane Patch Kitchen, and Cecilia's Taqueria. All of these restaurants are a perfect place to grab a bite and drink before heading out to explore Liberty Station or the nearby downtown area.

Start your day off with a cup of drip coffee, espresso, or macchiato at Westbean. You can also try their signature vanilla latte, a cold brew, or their refreshing tea.

Check out the gift shop for a tasteful selection of local San Diego goods. You can also take a stroll down Liberty Station's streets to admire the 1920s Spanish Colonial buildings that line the historic grounds.

Enjoy a Fun Kids' Activity

After your meal, you can spend the rest of your day in Liberty Station taking a walk on the historic trails and exploring the beautifully restored military structures. Or, if you have little ones in tow, you can head over to the LOT Cinema, which has rotating exhibits about remarkable women throughout America's history (closed Monday and Tuesday).

Don't forget to pick up a souvenir to take home! Located across the road from the Liberty Public Market, Moniker Coffee Co features a delicious selection of drinks and gifts.

The restaurants at Liberty Station are more unique than the original anchor tenants that helped kick off this redevelopment of a former Naval Training Center. You can find a mix of hip eateries and restaurants with gorgeous interiors that appeal to locals and visitors alike.
