Gillespie Field in El Cajon, California

Located in the city of El Cajon in San Diego County, California, Gillespie Field is the oldest of the eight airports in San Diego County. It was originally built as a Marine Corps parachutist facility, and in 1947 it became a public airport. There is an admission charge, but it is free for children 11 years and under.

The site also has an open house on December 13, and it will feature over 40 antique and classic cars. Visitors can also walk up to the planes and see them in flight. The hanger is about a mile from the Orange Trolley Line stop at the Gillespie Field Station.
